Digital Arabic Language Resources - DALR develops APIs for Computer Assisted Language Learning apps – CALL and Intelligent CALL for Arabic language adapted for Schools’ platforms and E-learning companies. These APIs are as well customizable according to needs and requirements.
DAL does not produce applications, but with our APIs and our expertise, schools and software companies who have an LMS platform, developers, and Arabic team can produce their own applications with their own settings and content adjusted to their needs in 3 to 6 months.
2- An Arabic Verbs Conjugator with a list of 15400 verbs. It conjugates all forms past, present, imperative, indicative, subjunctive, active and passive participles, والمفعول الفاعل أسميْ. Beside computing participles forms, this conjugator holds a unique feature by figuring out the correct orthographic variant with/out suffixed pronoun. Educational games are a good fit for such tools. The conjugator may be implemented as a reference dictionary for verbs into your platforms.
3- Many CALL exercises and applicationsto teach Arabic grammar rules, covering numerous topic in morpho-syntax (الصرف والنحو). It allows the learner to interact and learn from simple to complex rules with 3 three kind of applications: 1- Simple or smart exercises, 2 - Multiple choice, 3- Instructor Interface.
The advantage of the three CALL’s applications is the ability to interact with any word written by the learner in fill-in-the-gap exercises, or to restrict the answers to a valid vocabulary list. All the orthographic, inflectional and grammatical (and vocabulary) feedback will be prompted automatically according to learner’s mistakes. Furthermore, if the learner wants to retest himself for the same questions, similar but different set of questions/answers will be generated on-the-fly for a new challenge without the reiteration of the same boring exercise.
The Instructor Interface is a User Interface that allows the teacher to create his own exercises to address specific deficiencies or to develop a grammar topic according to learners’ needs. Not like some E-learning tools turning the teacher into a passive tool operator, this involves the teacher to interact actively with the learners’ needs.
